The Conference of Defence Associations (est. 1932) is a community of organizations which represents over 400,000 active and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Its Institute produces peer-reviewed, evidence-based research and analysis on Canadian defence and international security and manages education programmes to foster a principled and rational approach to Canada’s foreign policy.
The International Security Conference (ISC) is the CDA Institute’s annual symposium for graduate students working in the fields of Canadian defence and security. For the second year, ISC will be hosted in collaboration with the Balsillie School of International Affairs, the Royal Canadian Military Institute and the Defence and Security Foresight Group, May 11-12, 2020.
This graduate student conference provides students working in the realm of defence and security with an opportunity to network with other scholars, practitioners, and public service leaders in the field. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research centered on Canada’s security and defence interests and policies. This is a fantastic opportunity for students who are seeking constructive discussions, questions and feedback from others interested and engaged in the defence and security field.
The International Security Conference organizers welcome your proposals for papers across the spectrum of Canadian defence and security interests and issues.
